Just spent the last week, fretting, fussing, cursing, scheming, doing everything I could think of to get my computer to work online, including several trips to Staples, threatening to buy a new computer, and using other people's computers.

What did you buy?!
A new linksys router, a new navini modem, an antenna to pick up a better signal, and an hour of tech time to trouble shoot and install antenna.
Don't you just take the modem back to your ISP and they'll give you a new one? You know SF has a good Linksys router somewhere. ;) I probably do too.
Hope everything's working though.
Oh yeah! You're probably right about the router. Your uncle believes in having backups :>)
