Cindy and I just created a new blog for our Harper Street Women Writers group. We're hoping everyone will post writing there.
The blog name is hswomenwriters.blogspot.com. Cindy has already posted something! Happy day after Thanksgiving to everyone!

A Sense of Belonging
One of my favorite times as a child was family gatherings at Mamaw and PawPaw's house in Ropesville, Texas. There were tables groaning with roast turkey, dressing, candied yams, cream corn, green beans, cakes, pies, and jugs of sweetened ice tea. Best of all was the slew of cousins to play with. (I'm in the backrow between my grandparents.) Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Am I Blue
Like the 4th graders I used to teach, I seem to require constant stimulation. When all else fails, I turn to shopping. Not for anything I need but for the act itself. The greatest beneficiaries are my local thrift stores. When they fail me, I'm blue, blue, blue indeed.

Crazy Daisy
Living in the country comes with mandatory actions.
Like getting a dog.
Daisy, our three year old Queensland/McNab/Border Collie mix does all the things that country dogs do: chases birds, eats poop, and barks at everything. Recently, however, she's taken to eating the walnuts. Amanda, my son's girlfriend spent a couple of hours shelling a big bowl of them. Daisy spent about 30 seconds eating them all up. Bad Daisy!

Amazing Grace
lives on a rambling, shambling swath of land outside Mt. Rainier. Created from bits and pieces of wood, metal, plastic, bones, and fiber this menagerie of heroes and horses, dinosaurs and demons astounds. Go see it if you can.
